In light of recent events, namely a troll-y email from someone who disliked something I said on a website one time, I thought it would be nice to share something that we at www.celebrityletters.co.uk have been involved in over the last few weeks: Project Emily.

A month or two ago I got an email via the site from a young lad called Michael. Michael had invited his girlfriend Emily to the school prom and wanted to get her a present to remember; something personal and meaningful like a signed photo or letter from one of her favourite recording artists or actors. He asked for our advice in how to go about it, and because we like getting our hands dirty and with prom fast approaching we decided to just get the hell on with and and embarked on Project Emily.

We wrote to all the celebrities on Emily’s list and kept our fingers crossed for a response…

… and none came.

But we’re not too disheartened. Michael explained our plan to Emily and she is aware that at some point one or more signed photos will be winging their way to her, it’s just that celebrities are tardy folk and often it takes weeks or months to get a response from them. And apparently prom went really well : )
